Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
Whether your motorcycle is in pristine condition or hasn't seen the road in years, we happily accept both! Your donation can still be a significant contribution to our local charities, regardless of the bike's running status.
Title Issues
Make sure the title is signed over to us and includes the odometer reading. If there are title issues, like a loss or lien, it’s best to contact us for guidance on how to proceed.
Storage and Pickup Logistics
We understand that motorcycles can take up space, especially if they’re not in running condition. That’s why we offer free pickup services throughout Minneapolis, making the donation process hassle-free.
Title transfer & paperwork
When donating a motorcycle in Minnesota, it’s crucial to handle the title transfer properly. You’ll need to complete a Minnesota Motorcycle Title Application and have it notarized. Also, remember to remove your license plate and return it to the DMV. This step ensures you’re no longer liable for the bike and clears the path for the new owner!
Tax deduction for this donation
Donating your motorcycle can also give you a tax break! Typically, the deduction ranges from $500 to the selling price if the bike sells for more, as noted on IRS Form 1098-C. Keep your donation paperwork safe for your records, and be sure to consult a tax advisor for the best advice on how this could benefit you come tax season.
